FOR YOUR 2019 EMMY® CONSIDERATION IN THE CATEGORY OF
OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE BY A GUEST ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES
For 3 seasons, Dr. Stanley Lipschitz (Ray Proscia) has been everyone's rock. He is the perfect therapist. German accent and all. But when Stanley finds himself in dire circumstances and needing help, he has only one person to whom he can turn to save his practice, his devoted client, Louis Litt. All the while still attempting to treat Louis and everyone in Louis' life.
Ray started pursuing an acting career as a teenager. Being born in New York City gave him the opportunity to study with some of the greatest teachers in American theater history: Stella Adler, Uta Hagen, Lee Strasberg and, his mentor, Alice Spivak. The lessons he learned from these legends have seen him through decades of film and TV work, as well as, over 100 stage productions in NYC and LA.
Ray was 20 years old. He will never forget the words spoken to him by a casting director. "You don't look like DeNiro, Pacino or Travolta. You'll never work with that New York accent." These two simple sentences set him on a lifelong path of studying languages and dialects. Now, decades later, he is fluent in French and German and is proficient in 14 accents... which have, quite literally, given him a career.
Ray is thrilled to return for season 9 of the USA Network series, Suits, as the benevolent and kind Dr. Stanley Lipschitz. You may recognize him, as well, from Amazon's alternate reality series, The Man in the High Castle. In it, he plays Reinhard Heydrich, a real-life Nazi officer whom Hitler called, "the man with the iron heart". Or perhaps you know him better as the twisted, psychopathic Doctor on Netflix Imposters.
